26. Quilting

A lot of the girls going to Vienna have discussed the shock that accompanies close friends getting married.

Ladies, just wait till they start having babies.

25. Chores

One of my favorite things to do in Spring is yard work (don't tell my mom).

On Saturday we went out to the condos my family manages to clean up the yard. Both homes next to the property have walnut trees. If you have ever had, or lived next to someone that had, a walnut tree you know that this means disaster. We were raking for a long time.

I could have taken a photo of the piles of rotten walnuts, but instead i took some pictures of the tree I attacked with the clippers.

This is about half way into my hacking:

And this was after:

So, it doesn't look like I did that much, but I promise I did.

24. Airedale

She looks sweet but she's one hyper puppy. By the end of this walk my arm was falling off.

23. Blinkers

I'm not doing so great at pictures this week.

This is the dash of my car Harrison.

22. Technology

I would say my life is exponentially better since we installed a dishwasher that actually works in our house.

21. Homegrown

My mom plants daffodils. That's her thing. I wish I had taken these earlier in the day with better lighting. They really were lovely.

I love spring.

20. Power

I wish I could say that I hit the ball this hard, but unfortunately it was my opponent.  Someday....

This was taken with my cell phone, which is unfortunately about as good as the point-and-shoot I've used for all these other photos.

A few notes for the week:
  • Still trying to decide what camera I am going to get.  I'm leaning towards a Canon Rebel Xsi.  If anyone has any input (pro or con) about this feel free to comment.
  • I'm not so good about uploading photos every day, in case you couldn't tell.
  • Just over a month until I LEAVE THE COUNTRY!!

19. Doodle

I was SOOO excited when these arrived.  I have a slight obsession with writing utensils, especially colored ones.

Thank you jetpens.com.

18. Tragedy

I knew Provo had parking problems, but I didn't know they were this bad.

17. Gifting

Thank you!! You know me well.

16. Cyst

There are trees like this all around my neighborhood.  Trees that look like someone planted a different species of bush right in the middle of an already established piece of vegetation.  I think they look ridiculous.  The bushes are ugly to begin with, but add that tumor on there....guh.

15. Bogus

I seriously HATE March Madness, but that doesn't mean I can resist filling out one of these.

In case you are wondering, that bracket has been ripped to shreds (figuratively).

14. Casserole

Casserole is thrown togehter with whatever ingredients happen to be in the refrigerator.

Casserole doesn't look that appetizing, but it sure tastes good (well...sometimes).

Casserole is a comfort food.

This treat was made to satisfy an intense sugar craving.  Compiling what resources I had (strawberries that were supposed to be for waffles the next day, old semi-sweet chocolate chips, powdered sugar, sugar) i threw together an ugly, yet satisfying snack - my first casserole.

13. Lesson

My Dad is one of those crazy conservative cowboys that loves any kind of firearm. Recently he decided to discuss his favorite pistols with the young man I am dating.

Whatever Jack's message was, it seemed like Kyle received it loud and clear.

12. Yellow

Recently I duscussed my love/hate relationship with the color blue.  My relationship with yellow is ALL love, even on beasts like this:

Speaking of yellow, I am LOVING this spring sunshine thing.

11. Champions

Favorites: running, mountains, #1791.

10. Blue

I have a love/hate relationship with the color blue. Hate blue weddings.  Love blue skies.  Hate blue dresses.  Love blue ties.

After taking 17 pictures of my recycling bin, I think blue is a good color choice for it.

The whole rhyming thing above was unintentional.

9. Studies

This is why I was not out taking photos on a Thursday afternoon/evening:

Yeah, that Machine Design textbook is also mine (unfortunately).

8. Honor

If I had a tripod, this would have worked out much better.  But, it was late and I was desperate for a photo of the day.  This was on the route home.  Hopefully you get the idea.

7. Melancholy

March has some serious mood problems.

One of these days I am going to get a better camera.  These images are pretty grainy.

6. Laundry

The laundry rod.  My favorite feature of my parent's laundry room.  When I was younger clothes would accumulate on that thing until you could hardly fit another wire hanger it.  It was my job to go through and sort the clothes, taking them to whomever they belonged.  Now with less people at home, it doesn't get too crowded.  Whenever I do laundry somewhere without a hanging rod, I miss this one.

However, even with the rod, I don't love doing laundry.

P.S. My second favorite feature of the laundry room: the washer and dryer sing when they are finished.

5. Treat

So, remember when I said I was going to stop taking pictures in my kitchen?  I lied.  I'm not so great at this photo-a-day thing, I only remember at night, when I'm eating and doing homework in the kitchen.  I'll try harder next week.

A few other notes:
  • My sister and I decided that brownies are the best form of chocolate.  This opinion may change once I go to Europe.
  • I've been taking pictures with my little sister's camera (the same one that likes brownies - you may have thought "no duh, of course it's the same sister!"  But really, I have five sisters, so it is very probable I was talking about a different sister.  Are we clear?  Ok, good.) and I'm getting a little frustrated with it (its 4+ years old, an eon in digital camera time).  The thing is, I am getting more frustrated shopping for a camera, so I'm just dealing with hers.  I can't decide what I want.  A DSLR would be nice, but I'm not THAT serious about snapping photos.  So I'm left with digital cameras - but it turns out, there are a million options.  So, any suggestions?
  • I <3 iphoto.  The two finger rotate thing is AMAZING.
  • I can't believe i just typed the less than sign next to a three.
  • In case you didn't read the LONG bullet point, I need suggestions for camera purchases.
  • I am SO excited to go to Vienna.
  • I'll try to upload pictures more consistently, instead of all on Sunday night.
  • I don't know why I'm typing all this stuff, there are no photo-a-day police.  Tom seems like a pretty relaxed professor.

4. Flavor

The only thing better than this combo is peanut butter and Oreos.

I promise I am going to stop taking photos in my kitchen one of these days.

3. Dinner

Remember learning to make this in 7th grade Home-Ec class?  Yeah, that was 10 years ago, but my cooking skills haven't really improved since then.

I wonder how I'm going to handle preparing dinner in my host family's home.  Considering my German is terrible, it might be an interesting experience.

2. Lion

A lot of people complain about crazy Utah weather, but I really love March snow.

That doesn't mean I will complain when the lamb part comes around.

1. Mail

I nearly wet my pants when this arrived:

Don't ask me how many pictures I took of that stack of mail.

Pilot

What?  Another blog?  This girl is a freak.....

This one is for photos for a travel photography class.

Yes, I'm terrible at all things artsy.

I might have to make this one private.

We'll see.
